This blue GP-35 locomotive, with blue and white
Conrail "Can Opener" logo, was built in May of
1964 by Electro Motive Division originally for
the Penn Central and later carrying the PRR
name. Conrail inherited this locomotive in the
late 1970's when it was formed from six failing
railroads. Conrail repainted many of these
GP-35's into this bright blue paint scheme with
their "Can Opener" logo in the early 1980's.
