MTL's Description: Road Number 6440
This F7 A unit powered locomotive is painted dark
grey with the SP red "Bloody Nose" paint scheme and
lettered in white. It was built in February 1953.
The F7's stayed with the SP for their entire working
life. In 1959, SP standardized with a paint sceme of
dark grey, white lettering and a red "winged" nose.
This scheme was dubbed "Bloody Nose" by railfans.
It was eventually replaced int he mid-1980s by the
"Kodachrome" paint scheme.

Special notes: This is a special last run of the F7
bodystyle until MTL retools their dies (which is
not even a sure thing). It is highly suggested to
order this item, as it is likely the last of its
kind for SOME TIME.
